I called my mom today and in the background my dad cuts in. Some guy at work wants me to do 10 greeting cards for him. Total cost? $25. Wooot! I'm also making re-usable convention badges which I'll probably sell for 7 bux each. So far I have seven done or in the process of drying. Can't find my bloody fine tipped sharpies. Damn it. I only have SIX of the bastards. Found the two big ones. As if that helps, LOL.

Archie likes to 'help' with my art. He has to taste and then sign everything (read: Shred) with his beaks of approval. Poor inkster is sleeping. I need her out more often. I'm tempted to put her in with the cockatiels in the bird room. But then I wouldn't have her bird poops of approval.

Digi pix should arrive eventually. I've got 20 some paintings I've done of various sizes. I've yet to pick up some turpentine for my oil pastel work. I've heard that using oil pastels is similar to watercolor and I'm itching to try something new. Thank god my mom is putting $$ towards my supplies. It's part of my Birthday prezzie :-D . THANKS MA!

PS..finally figured out what Quixotic means. Had to look it up on dictionary.com. It says Quixotic is:

"not sensible about practical matters; idealistic and unrealistic; "as quixotic as a restoration of medieval knighthood"; "a romantic disregard for money"; "a wild-eyed dream of a world state"

Huh..coulda just said 'romatic brainlessness'. Hehee

I figured it's impossible for me to paint daily. However I draw daily anyways and I figured I would just rename my efforts ART-a-day, LOL.

I'm working on several pieces for a local sci fi and fantasy convention called Keycon. I currently have three images on the go, so some of my potos are rather ragged looking. I Sooo need a scanner as the quality of the photos SUCK.

I originally put my painting on pause as I was hand stitching a piece for the Psychiatric Service Dog Society's Quilt. it's almost done, so I'll be returning to the eight paintings I currently have on pause. One is complete and another will be once I figure out what to do with it.

Well, it seems my 'painting a day' is actually 'paint when you can when the 'phrenia isn't a pain in the ass'. Thus some days I paint squat while other days, like this weekend, I paint 2-3 images a day. This entry will have a few of the images I've actually transferred to my computer. I find it amusing that as I write this I'm waiting for today's image to dry. :-)

Please note I don't have a scanner so my images are photographed then cropped in Photoshop.

I'm hoping this will be a painting-a-day Blog. For those who haven't heard of this new net fiasco, it is literally what it says. The artist paints one painting a day with a few breaks and sells what they've done for as little as $100. At the very least I hope to improve my skills and at the best, get my stuff known! This first entry's image was actually done about 2 years ago and took several days. It may not qualify as a painting-a-day image, but it is a fair example of what my work looks like. All images are for sale unless stated otherwise.

If you're interested in my daily whinings and wanderings, feel free to visit [info]cockatiel_art. I'm usually in there more often than any where else. :-)

Alas, the image I promised! (Not For Sale)
